Bank of Japan greatly upped its purchases this morning

You have to pay attention to the three-headed monster (FRB, ECB, and BOJ). My guess is that this allows the Fed to pull back further on its purchases. They are still buying the equivalent of one month of asset purchases during the GFC each week.
